I was planning to type this down last night but have quite a bunch of workload...
So, anyway... Me and my good friend Roy who's a programmer were chatting a bit about life's daily crap and stuff... bills in particular and well...how to get a decent solution to my phone that jammed up...then we both talked about our lives until we were able to come up to the very same common denominator - us being SINGLE. lolz!
And I was about to laugh when that question came up... I mean, we literally talk daily about geeky stuffs. So, I told him that we both are not going to get dates - EVER(and mind you... Roy, is one hell of a goodlooking guy...)!!! And he asked "WHY?"
I told him... "dear, we're always talking about computers, software solutions, alexa ranking, google, traffic and all that crap... and things which are unusual to the average people, rather , unlikely for them to talk about... and it's really quite a bit hard to get involved with someone who's later staring blankly in front of you while you blab about just how pathetic your traffic is and how Alexa is punishing you to continuously do SEO for the spiders to actually crawl into it and practically get your items listed on the top 10 pages of Yahoo and Google; not to mention that you have to get these keywords tracked at the most market viable rate (and yes it's funny to hear myself talk about this when we were actually just talking about 'embedded firmware version 3.1.x' and 'cold restart' as I am typing this down)".
I told him how funny it is for us to probably get someone to date these days, when these people whom we want to date are into those cheesy movie-like stuff which we find senseless in a way... Imagine how bitchy can we get when we're asked about simple things and a two word answer would come out from our mouths... "Google it" or "Wikipedia it". I mean, not that we find them stupid but we seem to have relied all our questions to be answered by the internet making Google the our daily bible... which reminds me of a friend who once told me that all these gadgets are creating an "anti-social environment". An example to it would be the fact that instead of seeing the person, we'd rather just IM them or send them SMS! How busy can we get anyway??? Lolz!
This further gotten Roy leading to the question of "what subject matter should be discussed?" Now, this really cracked me up... coz I am having a hard time myself in finding dates... So, I told Roy that he better learn to cut down on delving into further details. An example to it would be finding yourself and your date windowshopping and saying "that's a really nice touchscreen phone" and everything ends there... NEVER extend the conversation to the software or hardware, to even the reviews... less you want to find a blank face staring at you and spoof you lost your date the next day... lolz!!!
I guess that's the pain of having this kind of job... you learn more... you gain more knowledge... and you remain single... How Convenient! lolz!!!
